Diagnostic Imaging procedures at Woodstock Hospital are performed by Medical Radiation Technologists in Nuclear Medicine, X-Ray, MRI, CT, Mammography/OBSP and Bone Mineral density. They use state-of-the-art equipment in order to produce images of internal structures of the body, for the purpose of accurate and early diagnosis.
In February 2018, the Diagnostic Imaging Department evolved with a new Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS). The PACS is used to store digital images from imaging equipment and allows physicians to quickly and easily share medical imaging reports electronically.
The Diagnostic Imaging Department at WH provides the following services:
- Bone Mineral Density (BMD)
- Computed Axial Tomography (CT)
- General X-ray
- Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
- Nuclear Medicine (NM)
- Ontario Breast Screening Program (OBSP)
- Ultrasound (US)
A written referral from an authorized healthcare provider is required for all services except for the Ontario Breast Screening Program. Your healthcare provider's office will make the appointment for you through Central Booking at Woodstock Hospital, and will provide you with the information for your scheduled exam(s), including clinical information and any preparations required for the exam. You must bring the requisition and your health card to your appointment.
Please note, that the new MRI Requisition Form is mandatory, along with the Appropriateness Checklists in order to book an MRI of the knee or spine (the forms are provided below).
Electronic versions of the forms are available for download on the South West Primary Care Alliance website (www.swpca.ca). If you are using a different EMR system or are a paper-based office, the PDF versions of the form are also available for download from the South West Primary Care Alliance website.
